Mummies and monitoring

AMIMB held another of our workshops on 15 March – at 2 Temple Place, which has become a regular venue for our AGMS and meetings. Nestled amongst a special Mummy exhibition, we enjoyed a fantastic and enlightening day.

Billed as a ‘Masterclass on monitoring places of detention’, it was a great success, attended by about 40 members and guests.  The main speakers, who also facilitated debate and discussion around the subject, were Professor Nick Hardwick, School of Law, Royal Holloway University of London and ex-Chief Inspector of Prisons; Loraine Gelsthorpe – Professor of Criminology at the University of Cambridge; and Rod Morgan – academic and international prison expert and ex-Chief Inspector of Probation and Chair of the Youth Justice Board.
